Every year, the Magnificat Institute Jerusalem, the music school of the Custody of the Holy Land, organizes the “Magic Lamp,” a concert of unpublished Arabic songs for children.
The songs, dealing with themes like childhood, family and school, will be collected in a special publication curated by the Magnificat Institute: the publication is then distributed to all the schools of the region. Teachers will be able to use the songs of the “Magic Lamp” for educational purposes.
This year, the “Magic Lamp” celebrates its 10th annual edition. On stage, the Magnificat Spring Orchestra, conducted by Robert Canetti, will accompany the Magnificat Buds Choir, the youngest pupils of the Magnificat conducted by Mirjam Younan. Artistic director of the event is Hani Kreitem while the journalist Eman Kassem Sliman will host of the evening.
The development of the orchestras of the Magnificat Institute is supported by a project of the European Commission.
