Carissime sorelle, carissimi fratelli,
Il Signore vi dia Pace!
1. Anche oggi siamo radunati in un luogo particolarmente significativo per la Chiesa tutta e per la nostra fraternità. È un luogo che ci aiuta ad accogliere il dono della comunione fraterna e a farlo crescere tra di noi.
2. Anzitutto perché questo è il luogo in cui facciamo memoria di Gesù che dona il suo Corpo ed il suo Sangue per noi, dona per noi tutto se stesso e tutta la propria vita. E affida questo mistero alla Chiesa attraverso il ministero dei sacerdoti.
A questo dono noi siamo chiamati ad attingere quotidianamente perché la nostra fraternità si fonda sulla comunione con il Signore Gesù, che ci ha voluti come suoi “fratres minores”, cioè come suoi fratelli più piccoli.
Se non attingiamo a questa sorgente dove troveremo la forza di rispondere a una chiamata che è chiamata alla comunione fraterna e al dono di sé pieno e completo?
3. Questo è il luogo in cui Gesù ha lavato i piedi ai discepoli, insegnandoci che amare vuol dire metterci gli uni a servizio degli altri. Con questo gesto Egli ci ha ricordato che la stessa celebrazione eucaristica, ha bisogno di essere in qualche modo completata attraverso atteggiamenti quotidiani, molto semplici, capaci di rendere concreto l’amore fraterno. E noi desideriamo che ciò che celebriamo cambi profondamente la nostra vita e il nostro modo di entrare in relazione gli uni con gli altri. Altrimenti le nostre celebrazioni sarebbero riti vuoti.
4. Questo è, infine il luogo del dono dello Spirito Santo, come ci ha ricordato la lettura degli Atti degli Apostoli. Lo Spirito Santo è il dono che ci rende capaci di comunicare, di entrare in relazione, di costruire comunione. È un dono che non riguarda solo la lingua di chi parla, ma – secondo il racconto – riguarda contemporaneamente le orecchie di chi ascolta.
È lo Spirito Santo a guidarci all’esperienza della comunione in fraternità anche attraverso l’apertura delle nostre orecchie e dei nostri cuori gli uni verso gli altri. Così, se accogliamo lo Spirito del Signore, anche noi riusciremo a comunicarci reciprocamente “le grandi opere di Dio” e a crescere nella comunione fraterna.
5. In questo luogo chiediamo allora con fede di saper alimentare quotidianamente la nostra comunione fraterna nutrendoci dell’unico corpo e sangue del Signore.
Chiediamo di saper esprimere questa stessa comunione fraterna nel servizio reciproco umile e generoso.
Chiediamo che cresca la comunione tra di noi anche attraverso una comunicazione cordiale e una condivisione sincera delle grandi opere di Dio.

Dear sisters and brothers,
The Lord give you Peace!
1. Today we have again gathered in a place which is particularly significant for the entire Church and for our fraternity. It is the place which helps us to welcome the gift of communion and make it grow among ourselves.
2. This place is, first and foremost, the place in which we commemorate Jesus who offers his Body and his Blood for us. Here he gives himself and his own life for us. Here he entrusts this mystery to the Church through the ministry of the priests.
We are called to draw spiritual life evey day from this gift, since our fraternity is based on the communion with the Lord Jesus, who wants us to be his "fratres minores", that is, the least among his brothers.
If we do not partake of this fount of grace where shall we find the stength to respond to a calling which is an invitation to fraternal communion and to the full and complete gift of ourselves?
3. This is the place in which Jesus has washed the feet of the disciples, teaching us that love places us in a position to serve one another. With this action He reminds us that the same Eucharistic celebration needs to be completed in a certain way through our daily attitudes, even though they are simple ones. These attitudes are capable of rendering concrete our fraternal love. We would like that what we are celebrating will profoundly change our life and our way of entering in relation with others. Otherwise our celebrations will be empty rites.
4. Finally, this is the place of the gift of the Holy Spirit, as the reading from the Acts of the Apostles reminds us. The Holy Spirit is the gift that makes us capable of communicating, of entering in a relationship, of building communion. It is a gift that does not simply regard the language which speaks, but - according to the narrative - at the same time it involves the ears of those who listen.
It is the Holy Spirit who guides us to the experience of community in fraternity also through the opening of our ears and of our hearts to one another. In this way, if we welcome the Spirit of the Lord, we will also succeed to communicate to one another "the great works of the Lord" and to grow in fraternal communion.
5. In this place let us therefore make a faithful request to learn how to nourish daily our fraternal communion by partaking of the one Body and Blood of the Lord.
Let us ask to know how to express this same fraternal communion in our humble and generous service to one another.
Let us ask that our communion will grow also through a cordial communication and a sincere sharing in the great works of God.
