The second day of the Chapter opened with the Mass celebrated by the Apostolic Administrator of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, Mons. Pierbattista Pizzaballa, who during the homily addressed a special thanks to the friars of the Custody of the Holy Land for their role and ministry in this Land and in the Church.

He recalled the difficulties that threaten our communities and the life of faith within the whole Church today, encouraging them not to give up and move forward with determination and with a vision of hope, avoiding being closed in particularism. He also recommended to them to pastors and models for the faithful, while fleeing the attitude of masters and administrators. He also called for collaboration between the various Churches, because unity will be the only winning card against the various problems and rifts present in today's society. Finally, he wished all present a good work for the Chapter.
In the morning, the Chapter friars had as their central theme the economy of the Custody and the activity of the Bursary, with the projects carried out over the three years; in the afternoon they listened to the report of the Minister of the Region of St. Paul and subsequently they dealt with the proposals concerning the center of oriental studies of the Muski. Then after an intense day of work, the friars gathered in the Church of St. Saviour for the celebration of Vespers.
