The Franciscan community at Mount Nebo (Jordan) is 90 years old. The first friars of the Custody of the Holy Land settled here on 13 July 1933, after having purchased the land from some Bedouins. At their head was fr. Girolamo Mihaic, “abuna Germana”. According to tradition, it was from here that Moses saw the Promised Land – although not being able to enter it - and died.
