Maria Voce says goodbye to the Holy Land

Jerusalem, 27th February 2011

It is the last day of the visit by the President of the Focolare Movement, Maria Voce, and of the Co-President Giancarlo Faletti, to the Holy Land.
To say goodbye to all those they have met and with whom they have shared this pilgrimage, the members of the Focolare Movement organized a reception at the Notre Dame Centre in Jerusalem.
Maria Voce introduced the members of the Board of the Focolare Movement, who had taken the opportunity of the pilgrimage in the Holy Land to meet, to various representatives of the Catholic movements present in the Holy Land, of the different Churches and religions. "We have been thinking about this trip for more than a year and taking the opportunity to hold a Board Meeting here in the Holy Land," Maria Voce explained over refreshments when asked about this experience.
“It was really wonderful to hold a Board Meeting of our movement during this pilgrimage. A moment of deep spirituality." The most characterizing feature of all the meetings that were organized by the Focolare Movement over the past few days was that no movement or credo in particular emerged, but only the desire to meet and know one another.
The evening was held with great simplicity. In the first part, the President gave a brief account of her experience as a pilgrim, thanking everybody for their warm welcome and the members of the movement for their great participation.
After a short piece of classical music, the participants gathered around refreshments, with members of different credos engaged in friendly conversation.
