Israeli university students visit St. Saviour

For the second year running, about thirty Israeli students from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem visited the convent of St. Saviour in Jerusalem, the centre of the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land.
The visit was part of the course on "Religious Communities in Contemporary Jerusalem" held by Professor Amnon Ramon in the Department of Religions.

The students were received on 16th April at the Curia of the Custody by Fr. Oscar Marzo who explained the history and the activities of the Custody of the Holy Land to them. The students then asked many questions on widely varying topics about the Custody, Franciscan religious life and Christianity.

At the end of the visit, they asked to visit the Church of St. Saviour, which allowed the students to learn about the bond between the church they visited and the Holy Cenacle.

At the end of their visit, the students continued their day of study with a similar visit to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre.
