The friars at St. Saviour’s convent exchange Christmas greetings

Thursday 23rd December 2010.

The friars of St. Saviour’s convent in Jerusalem gathered this morning in the Divan Hall to exchange Christmas greetings. It was a beautiful moment of peace and intimacy – as Father Armtemio Vitores, Guardian of the convent, underlined – before plunging into the last frantic activities of preparation. From early afternoon, those who will be involved in the ceremonies and the liturgical services will be going to Bethlehem to organize the celebrations.

In his greetings, Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Custos of the Holy Land, reviewed the intense moments of the Custody’s fraternity in a year which saw the Pope’s visit to Cyprus, the Chapter of the Custody and the Synod on the Middle East. The seminarians created a delightful Christmas atmosphere, cheering the assembly with their songs. The fraternal meeting came to an end with the exchange of Christmas wishes and a buffet.
