On Monday 6th December, a delegation of representatives of the Israeli army and police force was received by the Custos of the Holy Land, Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa for the customary Christmas greetings. For the first time, the military commander for the West Bank, Moti, took part in the meeting. He was accompanied by other military personnel, Mr. Saliba representing the Police and Mr. Cesar Margija, who is responsible for religious relations between the Israeli government and the Churches.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Custos presented his condolences on the loss of life and devastation caused by the fire in the Mount Carmel area.
