On the feast day of the Most Holy Name of Jesus, the feast day of the Province of his native Sicily, Brother Marcello Badalamenti celebrated the 25th anniversary of his ordainment as a priest, in the upper church of the Milk Grotto, in the presence of his fraternity of Bethlehem and many Franciscan friars who had come to be close to him.
Brother Marcello was ordained a priest in Palermo by Cardinal Pappalardo. Brother Claudio Bottini, who gave the homily and also meditated on the texts of the feast-day, told the story of this vocation.
On this day, traditionally chosen by the province of Sicily for the ordainment of brothers, on this Monday 3rd January two new priests were ordained for whom the Congregation prayed several times. The assembly was made up mainly of various religious congregations and the young friars from the seminar were there to sing.
To prolong the joy of the celebration, the Perpetual sisters of the Blessed Sacrament (Order of the Perpetual Adorers of the Blessed Sacrament) had prepared sweetmeats to be shared by all.
