Indulgence, the free gift of divine mercy, is a “grace of the jubilee”. It “allows discovering how unlimited God’s mercy is,” through the forgiveness of sins (in the sacrament of Penance) and the remission of temporal sins. On the occasion of this Jubilee as well,  the Apostolic Penitentiary “intends to spur on the souls of the faithful to desire and fed the pious desire to obtain indulgence” and this is why it has published a document containing the conditions and the guidelines  to obtain indulgence.
