Lest We Forget

It’s 10 AM on April 19 - the day when Israel remembers all the victims of the Holocaust. In Jerusalem, the sirens sound throughout the city. The cars come to a halt, and people walking in the streets stop for two minutes of deep meditation. The holy city is silent as everyone stands to honor the memory of the tragedy that struck millions of Jews – still an open wound for the people of Israel, commemorated every year with services lasting all day and a few moments of silence… to remember, and to pray.
