On the tenth of February, 2008, the Custody of the Holy Land’s Internet site opened with its new look. New analytical tools allow us to know where the visitors come from, day by day.
In two months, the site has had more than 38,000 visits from more than 115 countries. It is read the most in Italy (30% of visits). It is consulted more in Kuwait than in the Vatican!
49% of the surfers have visited at least once, and 41% are new visitors.
183,700 pages were viewed.
The article "The Magdala Project", uploaded by the SBF, holds the records for the most visits: 1932.
On average, there are 533 visits per day, a number that should increase meaningfully when the the site is better referenced by the large search engines. (We’re working on it.)
We have many developments in mind and they will be put in place during the coming months. The photo on the home page will be replaced, either by another photo or by a slide show. The search engine needs to be made more efficient. Viewing problems in Hebrew and Arabic need to be corrected, as well as those in all languages, etc.
