The day began with the celebration of the votive Mass of the Holy Spirit presided by Friar Francesco Patton, joined by all the Chapter friars concelebrating or not; in the homily the Father Custos indicated three suggestions linked to the passages read during the holy Mass. The land in which we find ourselves is that of the dream of Jacob, in which the ladder that ascends to heaven, was realized in Jesus; moreover this is also the land where we find ourselves living by vocation and mission, by the grace of God; and finally it is the land that preserves the holy places of the life of Jesus, which we are called to extend to all the people we meet.
Works began in the Immaculate Conception Hall with the first morning session at 8.45 am with a general presentation by the chapter secretary, Friar Alberto Pari, providing the Chapter members with initial indications and the distribution of materials and the presentation of the staff. On to the second morning session the Custos presented a report on the past three years. After lunch instead it was the turn of the Commission of the Holy Places that presented a detailed report on which the Chapter members were then invited to work in groups to discuss and bring concrete proposals in this regard.

The first Chapter day ended with the singular occasion of celebrating Solemn Vespers at the Holy Cenacle, again presided over by the Father Custos, who had the opportunity to remind the participants of the Peace brought by Christ in the midst of his disciples. The possibility of praying together gathered in the Cenacle surrounded by the silence of the evening in an atmosphere of intimacy was a great emotion for everyone.
