The Custos of the Holy Land, Pierbattista Pizzaballa ofm, will be speaking this evening at the "Christians in the Arab World: one year after the Arab Spring " conference organized by the Commission of the Episcopal Conference of Europe (Comece) in Brussels, Belgium.
A year after the beginning of what has been called the Arab Spring, the participants will discuss the significance of these events in terms of living with religious minorities, religious liberty and human rights, and of the future prospects for Christians in the Arab countries of the Middle East.
Also among the guests will be the Maronite Archbishop of Syria, Samir Nassar.
