NOT STRANGERS, BUT CITIZENS
The situation and future of Christians in the Middle East? This was discussed in Rome during the last few days at a meeting of the Committee for Aid Agencies for the Oriental Churches. Present was the Custos of the Holy Land, who soon afterward visited Christian communities in Lebanon and Syria.

Five new priests and three new deacons. In Jerusalem on the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, the Custody of the Holy Land celebrates the ordination of Franciscan friars.

LEADERSHIP COURSE FOR YOUNG ARAB CHRISTIANS
A leadership course for fifteen Arab Christians has been completed on Mount Tabor. A Positive ending in an initiative that aims to provide the means by which to live an everyday Christian life with dignity'.

WHERE JOHN THE BAPTIST WAS BORN
AT Ein Karem, where a sanctuary surrounds the cave in which, according to tradition, John the Baptist was born, a Mass was celebrated to remember him who -- as the Benedictus canticle calls him -- was the Prophet of the Most High.

PILGRIMAGE
Summer, the season of pilgrimage. Reacting to a reported decrease in pilgrims released by the Ministry of Tourism, Father Kraj, of the Christian Information Centre, says one should not be afraid to visit the Holy Land.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE POPE
