Vocations “come and follow me”

Last Wednesday, October 12, the postulants received a special visit in their formation house at Montefalco. A visit that taught them charity and welcome towards the needy.
Therefore, the friars welcomed in their convent 25 members of the community “Germoglio Meraviglioso”. This community, that was born in 2001 and is based in Foligno (PG), is a small charitable association that helps and takes care of the most needy, welcoming people of any age, language or culture, with any type of disability or need. In fact, at the convent were representatives from almost all the continents, each one of them with a single story and suffering, but joyous of walking and living together, having each other as a support for the daily blessings and difficulties.
In addition, the day began with an animated welcome with singings in Spanish and Italian and continued with the introduction of all the members of the convent (Friars and Postulants), as well as time for dancing and exhibition of talents from some of the visitors. After the lunch, Don Vito, the parish-priest of Montefalco, thanked everybody for spending time together and encouraged the young men to continue the path of the charity towards the needy. In the afternoon, the postulants entertained the visitors, with games for the young ones and a walk among the olive trees for the elder ones.
At the end of the day, everyone gathered for a moment of thanks and regards, with the consciousness that this nice experience was the beginning for a series of encounters that will involve both the postulants and the members of “Germoglio Meraviglioso”. The next appointment will be at the Germoglio’s house in Foligno, where the postulants will begin to work side by side the members of the community, supporting them in their daily live activities and needs, trying to see in the face of the least and needy, the face of Jesus poor and crucified.
